Review Policy
Hi hello! Thank you for taking the time to read my review policy for my book blog, Under the Book Cover. I appreciate the effort that you're taking to ensure that your book will be a good fit for both me and my audience. Written below, you will find my guidelines regarding review copies and what I as a reader and reviewer require from you in order to help form a positive and fun partnership between blogger (myself) and author (you). In your formal review request email, please include:
- Title, Author, Publisher, Publication Date (if the book is currently unreleased)
- Synopsis of book/link to Goodreads page where information regarding said book can be found
- Requested post date for book review (please state if review is for promotional purposes or part of a blog tour)
Currently, I am accepting:
- Adult Fiction
-Dystopian, Fantasy, Historical Fiction, Mystery/Horror/Thriller, Romance, Science Fiction - New Adult
- Dystopian, Fantasy, Historical Fiction, Mystery/Horror/Thriller, Romance Science Fiction - Young Adult Fiction (will be reviewed on a case by case basis, as this is a genre I'm moving away from)
- Dystopian, Fantasy, Historical Fiction, Mystery/Horror/Thriller, Science Fiction
Currently, I am NOT accepting:
- Non-Fiction of any form
- Literary Fiction
- Middle Grade
- Religious Books of any form
- Advance Reader Copies
- Finished Copies (Hardcover and Paperback)
- Ebook Copies (mobi, epub, pdf)
Unaccepted review copy formats are as follows:
- Audiobooks (As of 1/1/2017, I am not accepting audiobooks for review as this is not a format that I enjoy. This is always subject to change but please do not send me audiobook review requests at this time!)
Additional Notes:
- At the end of the day, even if a novel fulfills all requirements above, it is up to me whether I choose to accept a book for review on my blog.
- I do not ever receive monetary compensation for a book review. The only compensation I accept is in the form of a review copy of the book.
- Monetary compensation in exchange for a "5-star review" or "positive review" will never be accepted. I will not sell my reviews or be dishonest about my feelings on a book in exchange for payment.
- If a book is part of a series, please note that while I will still be happy to review the initial book, I request that other books in the series be provided in some way, as well as adequate time to catch up in said series.
- All of my book reviews will be cross-posted to Amazon and Goodreads.
- Disregarding any of these small policies may result in no response to your review request. Please respect my policies so that we can have a positive blogger/author partnership!
