#TheReadingQuest Sign Up/TBR!

7:21:00 AM

Hi hello and welcome to my official sign up/TBR post for #TheReadingQuest! Interested in what #TheReadingQuest is? Click here to be taken to the original post by Aentee at Read at Midnight! You'll find all of the information about the reading challenge and find out how you can participate if you're interested. Let's jump right into my TBR!

I'm going to be starting on the Mage path first! Honestly, I'll probably only finish the Mage path as I will be at a convention from 31 August to 04 September and probably won't get much reading done then, but I'd like to try and complete some side quests and maybe make my way down the Knight path as well. It's ambitious, but I believe in myself! So what am I reading? Check it out below!

A Book With a One Word Title

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
I am so excited to finally be reading this. It's been on my TBR for the longest time and I've heard nothing but good things about it so I can't wait to finally pick it up.

A Book That Contains Magic

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
Is this a surprise? I know after reading Fangirl I'm going to want to read Carry On so I just went ahead and accepted it and put it on my TBR.

A Book Based on Mythology

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
This counts, right? I've heard it deals with Welsh mythology so I'm counting it.

A Book Set in a Different World

Down Among the Sticks and Bones by Seanan McGuire
I read Every Heart a Doorway recently and absolutely loved it. Jack was my favorite character and I'm so excited to read more about her in this book!

The First Book in a Series

Nevernight by Jay Kristoff
So, I've been wanting to read this for ages. It sounds bloody and fantastic and with the sequel coming out soon-ish, I figured I needed to get on with it already. Also, I found out about #TheReadingQuest from Catriona of Little Book Owl and she hypes this book up all the time, so I figured this could be a little nod to her.

Side Quest: Potions

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
Another one I've been meaning to read but just haven't. Super excited for this one despite the 608 page count. Yikes.

Side Quest: Expansion

Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
Yup. I'm doing it. It's crazy, but I'm gonna try.

Side Quest: Grind

Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab
At a little over 500 pages (510 to be exact) this is yet another ambitious read. But I flew through This Savage Song so I believe I can get through this one. Right? Right. Go me.

Side Quest: Open World

The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater
Just in case I really enjoy The Raven Boys, I'm adding this in for my freebie book.

BUT! If I don't enjoy The Raven Boys as much, I'll be picking up

Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia

Side Quest: Mini-Game

The Princess Saves Herself in This One by Amanda Lovelace
I haven't read...any? poetry books but I've heard so many good things about this one that I figured this would be a good time to pick this one up.

So I think that's going to be it for my #TheReadingQuest TBR! It's ambitious and probably absolutely insane to think I can read all of these, but I'd like to think I can do most of them. Be sure to check out the original post for more information and to link up with the others participating in this awesome reading challenge. Do you plan to participate? Let me know in the comments a book that's on your #TheReadingQuest TBR! Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you in the next chapter!

  1. Awesome TBR! I'm participating as well (I'm a rogue myself) and I'm super excited! I've read Fangirl, Carry On, The Raven Boys, Illuminae, and the princess saves herself in this one, and I honestly loved them all, so I hope you enjoy them as well! Most of the rest are on my TBR as well. :-) I recently read Every Heart a Doorway and it was so amazing; I can't wait to pick up DATSAB!

  2. Fangirl and Eliza and Her Monsters are both so good, and both deal with fandom and mental health, so it's cool that you're reading them together! Hope you like them! :)

(By the way, that dog gif is too cute!)

    1. Thank you so much, Alex! I love my little corgi buddy for sure. And yes, I'm really excited that both Fangirl and Eliza and Her Monsters deal with the same topics regarding mental health and fandoms! As someone who suffers from a few mental health things myself, these books really stood out to me and I feel like I'll enjoy them both. Thank you so much for taking a look at my post! :D

  3. I hope you love Illuminae and Gemina! I love them to bits. :) I am starting with the mage path as well. I'm reading Nevernight right now and it's really good! It was kind of slow at first, but it really picked up. Good luck with your TBR! :D
