Hi hello and welcome to my stop on the I Am Still Alive blog tour hosted by Penguin Young Readers! Today, I'm really excited to share a moodboard and playlist to go along with this title. I had so much fun putting together these things and trying to think of just what would fit with the feeling of this book so I hope you enjoy! Let's get started!

 Title: I Am Still Alive
Author: Kate Alice Marshall
Pages: 336
Genre: YA Contemporary
Release Date: 24 July 2018
From Goodreads: "After: Jess is alone. Her cabin has burned to the ground. She knows if she doesn’t act fast, the cold will kill her before she has time to worry about food. But she is still alive—for now.
Before: Jess hadn’t seen her survivalist, off-the-grid dad in over a decade. But after a car crash killed her mother and left her injured, she was forced to move to his cabin in the remote Canadian wilderness. Just as Jess was beginning to get to know him, a secret from his past paid them a visit, leaving her father dead and Jess stranded.
After: With only her father’s dog for company, Jess must forage and hunt for food, build shelter, and keep herself warm. Some days it feels like the wild is out to destroy her, but she’s stronger than she ever imagined. Jess will survive. She has to. She knows who killed her father… and she wants revenge."

Moodboard

I Am Still Alive is a story about survival at its core. Jess has to survive out in the wilderness after her cabin is burned to the ground and only has her father's dog to keep her company. All of these images gave me a wilderness feeling, and also of isolation. I wanted to give the feeling of being out in the woods and having to survive and these all fit so well. Just as a side note, the Canadian wilderness is actually gorgeous and I was so excited to be able to find a photo of it as it is the setting of the book!

Playlist
(Click on the song title to listen!)

1. 2WEI- Survivor
This is a cover of the famous song by Destinys Child and I loved the eerie feeling that they went with for this cover!

2. Taylor Swift- Out of the Woods
I couldn't resist adding in a Taylor Swift song in this playlist. I'm going to see her in August and am just too excited! Plus, the song title is pretty spot on, right? And the music video also gives me survival feelings that I thought fit right in with the theme of the book.

3. Rachel Platten- Fight Song
Definitely a survivor-esque song! It's kind of empowering and definitely made me feel like I would be able to fight anything while listening to it, even fighting the elements in the wild.

4. B.o.B- Airplanes ft. Haley Williams
I could just imagine Jess being out in the woods looking up at the night sky and having this playing through her head.

5. Drowning Pool- Bodies
"Let the bodies hit the floor." Can't get much more revenge-y than that!

6. Sick Puppies- You're Going Down
"One of us is going down." Still on the theme of revenge here and this one definitely fits that feeling!

7. Rammstein - Feuer Frei!
I don't speak German but from what I understand this song is about releasing anger that you've built up inside of you. Yes, another revenge type song, but it's one of the plot points of the story.

8. Disturbed - The Sound Of Silence
And to round out this playlist, an absolutely incredible cover that is haunting and provokes feelings of isolation, especially with the title of the song.
