Hi hello and happy holidays! Welcome to Blogmas 2018 where I will be making a brand new post every day of December that relates to something bookish. I've recently been doing a lot of book tags and, surprise, today is another book tag. Today is day twelve and I'll be doing the 'Tis the Season Book Tag! Let's get festive!

1. Do you have a favorite winter read?

I don't have any Winter-specific books that I like to read around this time, honestly. But I feel like December will forever become the month that I re-read The Cruel Prince and The Wicked King from now on. I mean, every month is going to be "Re-read The Cruel Prince and The Wicked King" but especially December.

2. Find a book with blue on the cover!

Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan

I've been making my way through an ARC of this (bless the publisher for actually granting me the honor of getting an ARC) and oh my goodness this is easily going to be one of my favorite reads of 2018. It's just fantastic and I am probably never going to stop talking about it.

3. Find a book you’d use as the star on a Christmas tree!

The Wicked King by Holly Black

I quite literally just finished this and I am an absolute mess in the best way possible. This is the star in my life and I would absolutely put it at the top of my tree for everyone to see.

4. Pick one fictional place that would be perfect for a winter vacation!

5. Pick one fictional character you’d take with you on your Winter vacation!

Victor Vale from Vicious by V.E. Schwab

One of my favorite characters ever from my favorite book ever? Yes, please. I feel like we could have some really interesting conversations and have a ton of fun doing vacation stuff.

6. Name one book on your wish list this year!

Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand

I've heard such good things about this book since its release (and even before) and this cover is one that I am just dying to have on my shelf!

7. Favorite holiday drink, treat, & movie?

 

I don't think I have a favorite holiday treat? At least not that I can think of. And honestly, I drink hot cocoa year round. No shame. But my favorite movie to watch during this time of year (and all other times of the year because it's my favorite movie) is The Nightmare Before Christmas!

1. A fictional family you would like to spend Christmas dinner with?

2. A bookish item you would like to receive as a gift?

A bookshelf would be nice as I haven't had an actual bookshelf in over five years.

3. A fictional character you think would make a perfect Christmas elf?

Obviously Dobby! I feel like that's kinda cheating though because I'm sure he's just the easiest choice. But honestly, he'd be such a cute Christmas elf.

4. Match a book to it’s perfect Christmas song
Okay, so I actually really don't like Christmas music. I know, I'm Grinch, but I just...don't like it. BUT I have a song I don't mind too terribly and it's probably because it sounds super creepy and that's my aesthetic. So because of the creepy atmosphere and undertone of the song that becomes creepy because the song is in a minor key (hopefully I'm saying that right?) I chose All I Want for Christmas by Kurt Hugo Schneider and Chase Holfelder to be paired with...wait for it

I won't even bother explaining myself with this one because this post is almost entirely Cruel Prince answers. I'm also not sorry in the slightest.

5. Bah Humbug. A book or fictional character you’ve been disappointed in and should be put on the naughty list?

Taryn and Locke from The Cruel Prince. They can just go away forever and ever and I have so many angry feelings towards the both of them. 

6. A book or a fictional character you think deserves more love and appreciation and deserve to be put on the nice list?

Cardan because I adore him and his absolute dumpster fire of an attitude. I know underneath he's just a big cinnamon roll who needs some love so he definitely deserves to be on the nice list so he can get some presents that will make him less moody. Like for Jude to tell him she hates him or something.

7. Red, Gold, and Green. A book cover that has a wonderfully Christmas-y feel to it.

I have heard so many people talking about this book for quite a while but haven't actually read it yet. But it gives me such a Christmas feeling and maybe if I talk about it, then I'll finally get around to reading it! 

8. A book or series you love so much, you want everyone to find under their Christmas tree this year so they can read it and love it too?

The Cruel Prince by Holly Black

I just finished this and am absolute Cruel Prince trash now so this is probably going to be my answer for every question in any future book tag I do. Just as a warning. But yes, I want to give this book to everyone because I want it to be experienced by as many people as possible. At least I used a different cover for this answer, right?

If you don't know what Blogtober is, it's similar to Vlogtober (for YouTubers) where I'll be posting a brand new blog post every day in the month of October. Let's start off with an easy one. For those that may not want to gut and carve a pumpkin because icky, why not try painting a pumpkin? These are some super cute Harry Potter inspired painted pumpkins that are perfect for bringing some bookish flair to your Halloween decorations!

What's more perfect to carve into a pumpkin than the symbol of the Mockingjay with flames behind it? When you light the candle inside of the pumpkin, it will look absolutely fantastic and like your flames have come to life!

Queen Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lady of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm, Lady of Dragonstone, Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, the Unburnt, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons. Need I say more?

Smaug from The Hobbit is a fire-breathing dragon. How could you not want to carve a dragon on a pumpkin?! 

We started simple, so let's end simple! If you don't want to paint a pumpkin or sit down and spend hours cleaning out the guts of a pumpkin and carving it, why not try making a paper pumpkin? You could recycle an old book and make a couple of cute bookish paper pumpkins to keep forever!

I really enjoy carving pumpkins (not so much the cleaning out of the pumpkin, though) but I definitely am nowhere near as talented as some of the amazing carvings I showed. 1. What are you planning to read for the Summer Biannual Bibliothon?

This is obnoxiously ambitious and probably won't happen, but this is what I hope to read! To be completely fair, I'm already reading Arabella of Mars, but it's there just in case.

2. What is your favorite genre to read in Summer?

I don't have a particular genre I prefer to read in the Summer, but if I had to pick just a favorite genre in general, it would be horror. Who doesn't love being spooped on a humid and muggy summer night?

3. Where is your favorite place to read in the Summer?

Probably in bed under a bunch of blankets. Georgia has been having some pretty icky Summer weather so we turn up the fans and I like to bundle up like an eskimo and read. I also read in my computer chair a lot, but it's definitely not as comfy!

4. What is your favorite challenge done in the Summer Biannual Bibliothon?

Cosplay a Character challenge! Outside of reading/reviewing books for my blog, I love to cosplay. I go to several conventions a year and make costumes for both myself and my boyfriend so naturally, this is hands down my favorite challenge. 

PS- No, this is not me. I just love Tina Belcher and cosplay so, here it is.

5. What fictional character would you hang out in the Summer if you could?

Lara Jean! I binge read this trilogy not too long ago and fell in love with her character. We could bake, read some books, and watch movies with Kitty. She just seems like such a great friend and one that would be all about the Summer weather. Plus, she has a great sense of fashion!

6. What are your plans for Summer?

Honestly? Reading and finishing costumes for DragonCon in September. I have a lot of work to do between now and then (both costume-wise and book-wise) so I don't have much time to just sit around and do nothing. But let's face it, I'll probably just read and crochet like I usually do.

7. Do you have a Summer reading playlist? If not what would be on it?

Don't judge me, but I love this song so much.

8.What is your favorite Summer movie?

Mad Max: Fury Road counts as a Summer movie right? It takes place in the desert and it's hot so it's definitely a "Summer" type movie...ish.  

9. What book do you read every Summer, if not what thing do you do every Summer?



I don't have a book I read every Summer, but I feel like I'm going to try and start a tradition of reading the Lara Jean trilogy every year around Summer. It just has such a cute feeling that feels like it fits the season and I absolutely adore these books. The hype is well deserved, y'all. 

10. What other book tags are you planning to do this Summer?

Whatever tags happen to catch my interest! Being a book blogger and not a Booktuber always makes me feel like my book tag posts aren't as popular, but I really enjoy doing them.
